Description
This is one of my favorite Christmas songs to play on harp. I arranged the first page for one of my adult beginner harp students back in 2010. (Available to download below, free.)
The contemporary styling came just a few days later as an offertory for my church (sheet music below).
So pages 1-3 are my initial arrangements. But I like options, so I expanded the arrangement, creating pages 4-6 for you! These added pages are a variation, using colorful chords and employing a challenging arrangement.

NOTES FOR THOSE WHO PURCHASE:
Page 4 is a more challenging page 1, with alternate chord possibilities. Page 5-6 also have more “filled out” chords for more advanced harpers. Or these pages could be used as a duet with a solo instrument taking the top note, and the pianist (or harpist) taking everything else. Note the two places where the piano takes all of the notes: page 5, measures 78-79 and page 6, measures 87-88.
Then I created solo instrument pages in both treble and bass clef, but only for pages 2-3, the contemporary section.
(I intended to let the piano or harp take all of page 1. But you could copy harp/piano score page 1 for the soloist and let them play along on the top note.) I like to see accompaniment, especially where counting is tricky, so I included that with the solo part for the first two lines.
If I taught this song at one of my summer fiddle camps, I’d tell the students, “If you have 3 similar notes in a row, ornament something!” So I couldn’t resist: there is an added solo page with ornamentation.
I also have places throughout where you can omit notes in ( ) for a simpler arrangement, or play those notes on a repeat for variety.
No matter what: keep it simple, keep it playable, keep it fun. Enjoy!
